Intrauterine life is a process in which the physiological and psychological development of the fetus is initiated. Several factors affect the fetus by changing the intrauterine environment as well as the pregnant woman. Maternal stress during pregnancy can lead to neurodevelopmental, emotional and behavioral problems, non-optimal delivery results the child to be born. The stress exposed in the mother's womb can also affect in the later stages of life and increase the risk of the common chronic diseases that can develop. In this article, we will review the results of maternal stress and in this context, we will focus on the protection of maternal mental health and the treatment of mother's mental problems.
