Schizophrenia is known a heterogenous disorder. Crown and Andreasen are suggested that schizophrenia could be determined as negative and positive subtypes based on clinical features, response to treatment, pathophysiology, and prognosis. In this review, negative and positive symptoms, difficulties in differential diagnosis, comorbid clinical and etiologic features of schizophrenia have been summarized.
